Teacher Training Diploma
This 500 hour national occupational standard can take between two and four years to complete.
Students explore a practical and theoretical syllabus that covers: anatomy and physiology (including common medical conditions), pranayama, history and philosophy of yoga and class management.
To be accepted onto a BWY Teaching Diploma course students will have practiced yoga for over two years and will often have completed the BWY Foundation Course as well. Teacher training courses are run throughout the country by the BWY and its accredited organisations.
If you are already a teacher, trained through another tradition/organisation but would like BWY accreditation, click on the Integration Course for Yoga Teachers.

Monthly meetings on Saturdays, with one residential weekend a year at a retreat centre near Henley-on-Thames. Applicants should have completed a BWY Foundation Course 1 or equivalent, be attending Yoga classes regularly and intent on starting their own class, have time available for study at home and be open to learning and self-development.
Following interview, selected applicants will receive pre-course materials and will be required to attend an induction day in March.
