AIMS OF PART ONE – there will be: Use of the CD and course information
1. Seated salutes
2. Kneeling salutes
3. Exercises to prepare
4. Standing salutes with modifications.
OBJECTIVES – there will have been practice and reflection
1. On the use of the chair with extra modifications
2. Kneeling with extra modifications
3. On preparation for strength as well as flexibility
4.  Standing salutes with a modification at each stage
AIMS OF PART 2 – there will be: Use of the CD and Practice Response material
1.  To give written responses on the pro forma response sheets, relating to the first 3 stages above.
2.  To give personal additional input
OBJECTIVES – there will have been responses and experience in the following
1. The selection of a breathing ratio for self or a class
2. Selection of a speed of practice.
3. The creation of a short transcript from yourself as an addition to the sequences.
4. Your own preferred personal sequence and relating it to a chosen text from the Upanishads.

OPTIONAL to try out appropriate sequences on your own class and give feedback

TEACHING MATERIAL USED ON THE COURSE
Approx 16 pages in the course pack.
An audio CD for the physical practice.
METHODS OF PRESENTING THE SUBJECT
Keeping a Personal pro forma Diary of progress in each practice section and returning to Tutor for comment/advice. Optional try out with your own class.

ABOUT THE TUTOR: PAM HORTON
Pam Horton
Pam is the BWY Distance Learning Tutor, designing the Foundation and past Diploma material and now advising on parity of material in these DL in-service/on-going training courses. She has been attending Education committee meetings for many years, producing information and training courses for the BWY. She is a Diploma course verifier, has a Cert Ed, 5 certificates from the National Coaching Foundation and runs a wide range of IST days. She has experience in the main yoga traditions and her main yoga influence was Swami Venkatesananda. More information may be seen on her web site.
OUTLINE PLAN FOR THE RUNNING OF THE COURSE
  1. You will Register and pay on line. Print out these two pages to keep track.
  2. Your Tutor will be informed through the web site that you have been registered and will receive as confirmation all your contact details which you have filled in on line at 1. above.
  3. Your Tutor will send you a welcome letter with all their own contact details (by email) confirming to you within a few days, unless away on holiday.
  4. At the same time, they will give you a date for when you can expect to receive your material. This may be within 2 weeks or six months depending upon the course start date you have chosen
  5. Confirm to your Tutor, when you receive your course material, and also contact by email or phone should you have any queries.
    There will be 2 CD’s. CD 1 will be the audio practice/information  CD. CD2 will have the course material files on.
    You will down  load CD 2 onto your PC.and print off,  to give you a clearer overall view
    Then you will work on screen for the material which is to be returned to your Tutor. 
  6. Begin your course.
  7. You will have all the dates for completion in the letter you have had at 4. Above.
  8. Follow the dates carefully and let your Tutor know, should there be any holdup due to health, life event etc.
  9. When you have returned all your material to your Tutor and your Tutor has returned the material back to you, with their comments, then confirm that you  have received it.
  10. Finally, to complete the course, you will go back on line into your membership number and your original password chosen when at 1. above. Bring up the course evaluation page and fill in on line.
  11. When you enter the completed Evaluation, you will only then be registered as completed as gaining the 7.5  CPD points and receive your Certificate.
    So. Please make sure that you send the Evaluation, otherwise your Office record will not be ‘official’
  12. There will be an additional button on your course tabs which you can enter to pass any other comments about the course and also suggestions for future topics

The course is expected to take between 5 to 6 hours of your time, but you can take more if you want to. If you miss the completion dates without an agreed reason, then you may keep the material but not have a refund.
