Equity & Ethics
The British Wheel of Yoga’s Equity Policy was revised in 2005. The new Policy builds on the excellent work that has already been achieved in racial equality by The British Wheel of Yoga.
Equity & teaching under 18s in an adult class
In terms of fairness to both the adult students and the young person/s, you need to consider how many young people you are prepared to accept into your class: the percentage/ratio of young persons to adult students will change and can affect your delivery to the class. You could find your time is disproportionately spent with the young person/s to the disadvantage of your adult students. This may not necessarily be the case, but it could potentially happen and you may wish to consider the implications. There are also Child Protection issues with teaching under 18s.
