I have a unique and dynamic approach to traditional yoga teaching, bringing together attention to alignment and positioning in the practice of yoga postures, incorporating breathing and relaxation techniques for a whole body mind experience, increasing flexibility, stability, concentration and body awareness. Originally trained with the British Wheel of Yoga, I have continued my professional development studying a variety of yoga styles with many well-respected teachers from across the world. I have 20+ years of teaching experience, running weekly classes and workshops, both in local health and fitness clubs and privately for groups and individuals. In 2017 I qualified as a Diploma Course Tutor and have since been involved in running Diploma and Certificate teacher training courses, as well as the BWYT Foundation Course 1. More recently I've become involved in promoting and delivering the Gentle Years Yoga training programme and am now teaching on this course. My general classes are suitable for all levels with detailed instruction for beginners and those with less experience, with scope to extend practice and go deeper for those who want to achieve more. I enjoy working with students of all abilities, in particular older adults and students with specific needs who benefit from a gentler approach, including the Gentle Years Yoga programme and Chair-based classes. In one to one sessions and within small groups I offer more in depth tuition with appropriate modifications and assistance, to build a tailor-made practice.
