Time: 09:30 - 16:00

Location: Ardleigh House Community Association

Type of Event: IST Days

Do you offer private lessons or a Personal Trainer and want to improve, or start? Enjoy a day on tailoring yoga to each person’s needs, in Health Centers, clinics, or in their home.

Yoga exercise, pain or stress relief, or physical therapy, where goals can include promotion of faster healing or getting started with yoga. We consider what healing is, what constitutes a quality yoga lesson before, during and afterwards.  Gain an understanding on the differences between group and private lessons, tips on booking requirements, health questionnaires and a private lesson contract. How best to ask, listen and respond to the client’s goals. Over the day we will co-plan and refine two private yoga lesson programmes (for lesson topics voted on the day).  Our aim is to write and try out plans that are manageable and effective for home practice. The day includes gentle postures, breathing, meditation and relaxation – the key to healing.

I think this day would be popular and useful and so ask you to consider including it in your training programme.

Anna Semlyen has extensive experience in teaching yoga and has offered private lessons for over 15 years, currently teaching about 5 per week. She is a BWY Specialist Adviser on Back Care and Therapeutic Research and holds a Masters degree in Health Economics with experience of health research an a Diploma in Ayurveda, the healing sister science to yoga. She provides other IST days including – Yoga for Healthy Lower Backs, Yoga and The Mind, Yoga and Ayurvedic Dosh Constitutions, Improving Concentration.
