About the tutor
Richard Adamo has now been teaching and practising yoga for over 20 years. In that time he has explored a wide variety of yoga and has taught classes for children, prenatal yoga and the elderly as well as general hatha classes, ashtanga yoga [which he was amongst the first to bring into the Wheel], yoga for sports people [including the Welsh Rugby team] as well as yoga for individuals with illnesses and groups with mental health issues. He is a BWY DCT and external verifier. He lives in Wales, where he teaches six classes a week. For recreation, he keeps bees, gardens, rides motorbikes on and off road and is interested in economics and psychology.
Outline plan for the day
- Assess knowledge and experience of group
- Introduce different translations of the main HYP text and other related texts
- Go through the order of practice and ground rules of the system
- Look at what a yoga could accomplish through practice
- Q&A from morning session
- Look at energy control systems and the prevailing understanding of A&P
- Discuss interpretations of Kundalini
- Practical session of Pranayama
- Closing relaxation
Wear yoga clothes. Bring your copy of HYP, mat, tissues and a light lunch.
