Tutor: Liz Lark
Date: 27th February 2021
Time: 10:00 - 16:00
Liz Lark has 25 years yoga teaching experience originally trained to teach yoga with the British Wheel of Yoga and went on to study Astanga Yoga, practising under Derek Ireland.
The inspiration for her creative style of teaching comes from Hatha yoga practices and the Astanga Vinyasa Yoga tradition – a dynamic, dance-like style which led her through India and Crete in the 1990s. Liz weaves themes of nature, body, art, colour, poetry and dance into her creative vinyasa sequences, somatic practices, visualisations, meditation and relaxation. Liz adapts yoga postures to allow each individual to work at their own level of comfort and ability.
Imagine a bridge in its landscape, a metaphor for making a crossing, connecting. Sense yourself in the landscape as you walk towards the bridge, crystallise your intention for practice (sankalpa) to facilitate purposeful carving of your dharma (purpose). Travel through the natural elements to purify the energies within ourselves, calling upon our five senses to awaken ‘somatic self’, inhabit ‘primordial feeling place’ to strip away conditionings (samskaras)”
