Join Petra Coveney, founder of Menopause Yoga (2013), on this practical CPD course to learn about the menopause, biological causes, symptoms and potential long-term health risks – and how to modify yoga practices to ensure women feel safe and supported in your classes. It is an interactive course that includes theory talks, group discussion, yoga demonstration and the opportunity to practice teaching modifications. 

Please note: this course does not qualify you to teach Menopause Yoga, which is a 30-hour Module accredited by the British Wheel of Yoga. 

Menopause Yoga combines western medical science with eastern wellbeing to give women a toolkit of techniques to alleviate some of their symptoms, and a positive perspective of the menopause. Petra’s approach helps Educate women to make informed lifestyle choices, feel Empowered by practical ways to manage their own menopause, so they can Embrace this hormonal transition as an opportunity for personal insight and self-growth.

Petra Coveney is a member of the British Menopause Society, a BWY teacher and trainer, the founder of Menopause Yoga™ and author of a forthcoming book ‘Menopause Yoga – a holistic guide to supporting women on their menopause journey’ (October 2021).  Petra has been running menopause workshops and classes since 2013 and training teachers in Menopause Yoga since 2019 on a 30-hour Module, which is accredited by the British Wheel of Yoga. She has trained almost 300 teachers world-wide and her course achieved a 98% satisfaction rating from graduates who said it was value for money and would recommend to other teachers (Survey Monkey 2021).

In case of any cancellation:
1. The event organiser will offer to transfer a person to another event which is on the BWY website. 
2. If this is not possible the event organiser will follow the BWY cancellation policy: • Within 2 months of the event a full refund can be made • Between 8 weeks and 4 weeks prior to the event 50% of the fee (a full refund can be made if there is a waiting list for the event) • 1 month to 1 week – 25% of fee paid • 7 days notice no refund.
3. The event organiser will ask the Treasurer to refund the person by BACS – cheque refunds will only be given in exceptional circumstances.

About Petra COVENEY

Petra Coveney is the creator and founder of Menopause Yoga (2013) - the world's first menopause specific style of yoga. She developed this practice after her own experience of menopause and the physical, psychological and emotional symptoms linked to the decline in a woman's fertility hormones and this stage of life. She is a member of the British Menopause Society for health practitioners and works with menopause specialist doctors, nutritionists, and complimentary therapists. In 2019, due to requests women attending her workshops and teachers wanting to share this practice, Petra created the first Menopause Yoga training course for qualified yoga teachers. With the support of the British Wheel of Yoga, Petra began offering this training Module in 2019 and has since then trained over more than 300 teachers world-wide in at least 15 countries. In 2021, she began offering short CPD Menopause Awareness courses for male and female qualified yoga teachers and other bodywork instructors. Petra's approach brings together factual information from western medical science and eastern wellbeing practices that include yoga, pranayama, mindfulness meditation - as well as women's circles and journal writing. Her workshops also include basic guidelines on nutrition, natural remedies, complimentary therapies and Hormone Replacement Therapy. Her unique approach is designed to Educate women about the menopause so that they can make informed choices, Empower them with simple yoga, breathing and meditation and factual information, and encourage them to Embrace the menopause as an opportunity for self insight and growth.
