Cheryl Lee – Sensing the Soma – Exploring movement with Somatics
Movement as nature intended, from the inside out
Soma is a Greek word to describe the body as a thinking, feeling, sensing, moving, living, adapting process – rather than flesh and bones. In this 90 minute class we will practise the skill of interoception – sensing the body from within. We will also have an introduction to the art and skill of Thoma Hanna’s ‘pandiculation’ – a nervous system reset for the body without strain, pain, forcing or stretching. A little neuroscience, a lot of practice. Great for better movement and co-ordination, well-being, stress relief, easing tight muscles and pain. It’s relaxing, it’s interesting and it’s pleasurable. You might be surprised what you discover!
