Tutor:    Carolyn Clarke
Carolyn Clarke has been studying and teaching yoga for over 40 years, and is a DCT in Nottinghamshire. Interested in all aspects of yoga, practical and theoretical, she is always trying to develop and refine her ways of delivering yoga in all its form. She is interested in how the ancient ideas sit in the modern world and particularly the 21st Century yoga class.
Workshop Details
Morning Aims
1.To encourage discussion around three main philosophical of Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, Patanjalis 8 limbed model and HYP Moksha in relation to yoga practice and teaching
2. To prepare and lead Asana practice relating to Vayu and Chakra placements based around stronger asana and kaya mudra, encouraging ‘intelligent edge’ practice and integrating Savrtti breathing rhythm and Hasta Mudra to detail progression
3.To review practice and how this creates a starting point for integration of theory from the three models
Afternoon aims
1.To explore the theories more deeply with a view to defining how they link
2.Offer a more meditational set of practices that will encompass a more subtle development of energy and its use
3.Create opportunities for participants to discuss what they can take from the inter development of these three theories and process it within their teaching
