Moving Through Sound into Silence
Lesley will introduce a range of simple chants linked to asana for use in general yoga classes. She will demystify the use of sound and emphasise it as a tool for increased self-awareness and highlight possible problems in the use of sound and ways to overcome these. The afternoon session brings more meditative chants suitable for use with pranayama or meditation.
The day is aimed at any teacher who wishes to broaden their teaching approach and offer their students a more integrated experience of holistic yoga. We will be working with very simple chants, so no prior chanting experience necessary.
1. Remember different sounds to use in class
2 Use sound with more confidence
3. Feel silence in and through sound
4. Experience sound as a way of coming closer to the practice and closer to themselves
The day includes lecture, group discussion, practices of asana, pranayama and meditation with sound.

A message from Lesley:
ZOOMING FROM SOUND INTO SILENCE: what better way to liberate your inner nightingale than from the seclusion of your own home? Croaky voice? Strangled sound? No sound at all? This virtual CPD day will enable you to explore your voice with no one there to hear you!!!! Our time together will offer you a unique opportunity to develop confidence in your use of simple sounds to enhance your practice and your teaching. Sound can be so effective in supporting the energy of the practice you are doing, as well as developing a longer exhale. No choral experience required, just familiarity with the mute and unmute button.
