ONLINE - Exploring Asmita with Angela Ashwin
We will explore the central line going through Patanjali, then focus on the kleshas in particular asmita. We will work with asanas, working towards a peak asana, pranayama, focus practice. In this work exploring Patanjali message and instructions. What is asmita, the sense of Ego, how can I detect it and how does Patanjali suggest to reduce it. There will be a mixture of presentation, discussion, instructions into yoga practices and feed back.
Angela Ashwin is a BWY DCT living and teaching in Devon. She came across yoga 35 years ago and practice and live it since. As she was very interested in spiritual texts she did a course in Theology in Universities in Germany, where she comes from, to study spiritual texts.
Angela says 'this interest is still the same, just that I found more valuable wisdom in the yoga texts than in the Christian. I see that the texts are instructions to evolve the whole human make up into a higher spiritual state. All the yoga practises, asana, pranayama, mudras, bandhas, mind control are coming to life for me when trying to follow the instructions of the old teachers like Patanjali, Svartmarama…And this is what I am trying to teach, in my classes, workshops and teacher training'
