Learn how to teach Menopause Yoga workshops and group classes on a unique course led by Petra Coveney who is the founder of Menopause Yoga (2013) a member of the British Menopause Society and author of teacher’s book ‘Menopause Yoga – A Holistic Guide To Supporting Women On Their Menopause Journey.’

Menopause Yoga seeks to Educate and Empower women to Embrace the Menopause as an opportunity for self-knowledge, better health and empowerment.

It is an holistic approach that draws together western medicine and eastern wellbeing approaches to support women through their menopause.

Trainees on this course learn to:

Teach specific 4xMenopause Yoga classes that include asana, pranayama and meditation practices to help women manage some of their symptoms and unlock the positive potential of this natural but destabilising transition in life.
Hold Space safely in women’s circle discussions on menopause.
Plan and promote menopause workshops and classes.

Trainees also benefit from an online Teachers’ resources Library of menopause expert guest speaker talks that cover:

-       Biological causes of menopause symptoms, health risks & Hormone Replacement Therapy; 

-       Nutrition to support hormone balance, heart health, bone and muscle strength.

-       Osteoporosis risks and safe yoga practice.

-       Overview of psychology & CBT for menopause.

-       Herbal natural remedies and vitamin supplements.

-       Overview of Ayurveda for menopause.

-       Overview Traditional Chinese Medicine

-       Pelvic floor health

-       Premature Ovarian Insufficiency.

-       Marketing and Social media for Menopause Yoga classes and workshops.

This Module is accredited by the British Wheel of Yoga and involves 30 contact hours of live teaching in person, teaching practice and a teaching assessment on the final day.

There is a daily lunchbreak from 1-2pm and two extra scheduled 15 minute breaks.

Successful completion of the course requires full attendance of the 5x live training days, a 15-minutes observed teaching practice and written coursework ( a journal summary and workshop plan) to be submitted by 4th July, 2022, at 10am.

To support self-study, trainees also have access to an online library of Menopause Yoga Teachers’ Resources, including video webinars, podcasts and pdf documents. Trainees are encouraged to practice teaching online with an assigned partner during the 4-week course.

Graduates will receive an accreditation certificate from the British Wheel of Yoga and a Menopause Yoga Accredited Teacher gold standard badge and certificate, as well as 30 CPD points.

Graduates are encouraged to stay part of the Menopause Yoga Community of teachers who benefit from being listed in a FREE online Teachers Directory on the website, FREE teacher CPD skill-sharing sessions, and FREE access to the Teachers’ Resources library, until the end of 2022.


Course criteria

This course is only open to qualified yoga teachers who identify as female, due to the personal nature of the women’s circle discussions.


A full refund minus a £15.00 Admin fee will be provided if you contact by email Petra Coveney no less than 4 weeks before the course start date. Refunds cannot be provided due to sickness, but if it is possible to fill your place you will be offered a place on the future course, which may be in person or online.
