DCT Substitute Training
Date: 27th November 2017 - 28th February 2018
Time: 09:00 - 16:00
Type of Event: Other
Places Available: 12
This training is for those DCT's who were unable to attend DCT Weekend in September.
If you log on to your BWY members page and access the DCT web page you will see a list of 5 presentations, with supporting training documentation, that covers the subjects delivered by the Awarding Organisation, BWYQ.
Please work your way through all of these presentations and documents, taking notes and making sure that you understand the information presented. There is a lot to take on but these presentations cover a DCT's responsibility in terms of meeting Ofqual conditions for delivering the regulated qualification and other guidance/ training that has been inspired by IQA/ EQA report findings and DCT queries. For example the malpractice and maladministration (M&M) training is underpinned by the M&M policies and processes that we are required to have in place by Ofqual but also contains comprehensive guidance on how you can avoid malpractice with your students in terms of teaching correct referencing and avoiding plagiarism. |This is just an example but hopefully you will see that the guidance given is useful both in terms of operating compliantly as a DCT and also providing resources that you can use to teach and support your students.
We have a range of assessments (on survey monkey) for DCTs to complete once they have finished the presentations and hand-outs. These are intended not only to evidence that you have done the training by testing your knowledge but also to identify if there are any further training needs so that we can support you further.
In order to complete these assessments you will need to register here. You will then be emailed a link to access the assessments.
On successful completion you will be awarded a certificate to evidence that you have done the necessary training to uphold the DCT license to teach.
