Errors with the election process last year highlighted a number of issues with the BWY’s ability to run a fair and transparent process in-house and in accordance with our Memorandum & Articles.

It was agreed and confirmed at the EGM in 2018 that a review of the election process would be undertaken and steps would be put in place to:

improve the process in terms of confidence, transparency and control

increase engagement and the ability of candidates to campaign and debate effectively

move to a digital and therefore more cost effective model

An NEC project team has been working alongside consultant company UK Engage, to consider the overall current voting strategy. Their findings and proposals for change have been discussed with members of the NEC and ROC. Proposals for the elections in 2019 will be available on this page shortly, together with step by step procedures for voting this year. From now until the elections we will keep you regularly informed with what is happening. Updates will be given on this website page, in membership matters and on the British Wheel of Yoga Facebook page:https://www.facebook. com/britishwheelofyoga/

The next update will give details of the proposals forchange and how these will be implemented, along with details of nomination procedures and posts available.
