Yoga for Special People
This training will help practitioners gain an understanding of how to approach teaching Yoga to less abled individuals. It will provide teachers with the tools to make yoga’s therapeutic benefits accessible to adults with a variety of specific needs, so they can be incorporated into their class.
Establish how to access postures in different ways to meet the needs of the less-abled.
To participate in a simulated Chair yoga Class for non-ambulatory people.
To structure and plan a Yoga session for different populations both ambulatory and non-ambulatory which may include conditions such as Dementia, Multiple Sclerosis, Stroke, Parkinsons, and mobility related issues around sensory impairment, arthritis, and other age related ailments.
To understand how this population can often experience anxiety, stress, depression and low self-esteem and offer techniques to alleviate this.
The objectives of this training are to provide a solid foundation for participants to approach a yoga class for those with additional needs, and the right guidelines and practices to improve their teaching.
