This workshop is intended for anyone interested in attending an enjoyable Yoga session and continues the series of workshops being run by the BWY North Committee.

This will be a 2.5 hour workshop with a break and with refreshments provided afterwards.

The room will be open from 11am and we will start promptly at 11.15. With a 15 minute break (timing to be decided by Robyn), the yoga will finish at 14.00. We will then have an hour to chat afterwards for those who want to stay.

Robyn has been teaching yoga for many years, and opened her own yoga studio in Heaton. She is a member of our BWY committee in the North region, initially as Deputy Regional Officer and then latterly, as Regional Officer. She is also a DCT, training new teachers to the highest standards. She is moving to pastures new, out of our region altogether, and has agreed to do this workshop as a farewell appearance!

We will be celebrating Robyn's time with us after the workshop with cake and drinks. Tea/coffee and soft drinks will be provided, as well as cake. If you'd like to bring your own favourite snack or drink, please do.

The venue, Newton and Bywell Community Hall, has been used by us in the past for two BWY training days and for our March workshop, and it is a lovely place, just off the A69. We hope that it is reasonably central and easily reached by as many people as possible.

Robyn says of her session:

What a time it has been for us all and perhaps, like me, you have been re-assessing life and how you’d like to live your life. Our yoga practice helps to keep us physically healthy, but it also sooths our emotional rollercoaster!

Our practice does guide us from our attachment to form and thought, toward the realization that we are, at our core, pure Consciousness - Who we are; not our experiences, our memories, our education, not our personality nor our possessions.

There is something deeper than ordinary consciousness which we learn to receive from our yoga practice. Perhaps our practice is the road towards pure Consciousness, but it isn’t pure Consciousness.

So rather than having a strong focus on asana as in ‘the form’, I thought we might consider that "any amount of the pose contains the entire pose” (in recent email from Judith Lasater & it got me thinking!): let’s explore this together and see where our journey leads us.

Please bring: your usual yoga items - mat, blanket, belt, blocks and if you have them, bring a bolster and an extra blanket or two.
