the University of York Back Pain trial
2. Offer the Yoga for Healthy Back Pain sequences devised by Alison Trewhela
and endorsed by the BWY and the Iyengar Yoga Association (UK)
3. To review spinal anatomy and common spinal conditions
4. To share a range of what to do if pain relieving postures
5. Ensure continued application of yoga philosophy within the context of back
pain
1. refresh their A&P around the spine
and potential problems
2. learn about the University of York Back Pain trial and its outcomes
3. practice a range of simple postures for use in their classes
1. to develop the range of postures in
the backpain toolbox
2. To share Relaxation for Healthy Lower Backs CD
3. Apply yoga philosophy to the experience of back pain
1. Practice wider range of postures
suitable for back pain relief or for use as back maintenance
2. Relax using CD
3. Feel more confident in managing students with lower back problems in their
classes
