This inspiring day of learning and practising Embodied Yoga Principles will create qualities and skills which will enable you to take yoga off your mat and out into your everyday life.
Yoga will be practised with a different emphasis and will be more relevant to your relationships, family life, study or work life and will include a combination of "inner” and "outer” elements.
The "inner” practice is reflective and the "outer” practice is more social and engaging, and is about connecting and having fun. Both elements are extremely relevant to enhancing your daily life.
Verbal communication, sharing and self reflection are all important aspects of Embodied Yoga Principles. They allow insightful communication and sharing, which will help you to focus on setting and declaring future goals and paths you wish to achieve and take.
By exploring a variety of different postures, you will become more open, more able to say yes and no and stand up for what you believe in, providing support for yourself and others, and take part in every aspect of life fully amongst a host of other benefits.
The day may be emotionally intense as the Principles are powerful tools which look at at your personal pattern. With your consent we will share personal experiences in small groups and in pairs. Please be aware that as the practices can be powerful and this day will not be suitable for those who have current mental health issues, are suffering intense stress or are in an emotionally vulnerable position. Vidyadasa (Ady Griffiths) has been practicing Yoga, Meditation and Buddhism for 25+ years and teaching since 2006, he teaches weekly Yoga, Yoga & Meditation, and Embodied Yoga Principles classes at Brighton Buddhist Centre, leads yoga, meditation and Buddhism weekends, holidays and retreats
He is a trained Embodiment Facilitator and teacher trainer on the Embodied Yoga Principles Teacher Training alongside Mark Walsh.
Originally practiced Iyengar Yoga, then influenced by Vanda Scaravelli inspired practice with a variety of teachers and Hatha Yoga generally, he trained as a Unity Hatha Yoga Teacher in 2006.
Other Movement and Meditation Training has included being a Shiatsu Practitioner 1998-2003 Chi Kung, a Dance and Visual Art Degree 2003, was ordained as a Buddhist in the Triratna Buddhist Tradition in 2011, he trained as an Embodiment Facilitator in 2016 with Mark Walsh and Francis Briers.
