Tutor: Lisa Mc Rory
Date: 10th March 2018
Time: 10:00 - 16:00
This will be a day to discover a felt sense of gravity and grounding through Vanda Scaravelli’s unique style of yoga.
During the day we will practice a range of postures which
Involve a transfer of weight. This focus will allow us to practice flowing sequences, as well as balances.
We will notice our changing relationship with the ground and with gravity as we move and breathe. A felt sense of this rather elusive concept ‘gravity’ will also inform our understanding of that other principle- often equally elusive – ‘grounding’.
As such we will explore the following questions:
Can we anchor and feel grounded without collapsing?
Can we grow and release without ‘over lengthening’ and introducing tension?
Can we refine effort so that we move with more comfort and ease?
Throughout the day we will practice with attention and awareness so that our Yoga is a supportive of ourselves as a whole.
The day will include some quiet sitting and relaxation
Central to Lisa’s approach to teaching is an acceptance of where each student is
with their own Yoga so that practice is sensitive and without struggle.
Blackaby, amongst others and by what she learns from teaching her students.
She is also influenced by other movement disciplines that inform her understanding,
most notably the Feldenkrais Method and is currently a second year Student on the
4 year Feldenkrais, Awareness Through Movement training.
