Tutor: Zoe Knott
Date: 21st October 2017
Time: 10:30 - 16:30
Sirsasana and Adho Mukha Vrksasana are postures that we can all work towards
There are stages for everyone
We will approach these asana by working with specific techniques to strengthen and stretch the relevant muscles. The postures will be broken down and considered stage by stage. Everyone will find aspects to work with that will assist their own practice and all will see a path on which to move forwards. The poses will be approached from a teaching perspective. The day involves pair and group work to give the experience of taking individual students at different stages in their practice, further into the postures. The day is very much about the journey towards these asanas.
So, remember this is not a day of headstands and handstands, it is a day suggesting moves to prepare for them
Zoe is a much-respected Diploma Course Tutor. Over 30 years of yoga practice with many different teachers from a variety of traditions has resulted in an eclectic style of teaching that has been influenced by all those she has worked with. Her fundamental approach is to build strength as the cornerstone of practice and from there all poses become possible. Asana are broken down and analysed. Zoe looks at the muscles that need to be strong or flexible and works in detail gradually building up the components of a pose.
