IST - The Effect of Language in the Teaching of Yoga
Tutor: Ginny Kempster
Date: 21st September 2019
Time: 10:00 - 15:45
This day is a must for any teachers and student teachers interested in the effect of the language used for teaching Yoga.
The day aims to refresh and revitalise the use of language using varied and imaginative vocabulary, so finding the most effective way of communicating with our students and deepening their experience of Yoga.
However experienced the teacher is, the descriptions used can often become habitual. Some time will also be devoted to discussing how certain word usage can have negative effects and how this can be recognised.
By using simple exercises and role play we will explore how we can improve the communication between teacher and the body of the student.
As this is a practical day please bring all your Yoga accessories.
Ginny gained her BWY diploma in 1990 and has been teaching regular classes since then.
In her continued personal training she has worked with such tutors as Swami Pragyamurti, John Stirk, Gill LLoyd, Julie Friedeburger and has been studying with with Sandra Sabatini both in Italy and the UK since 2001.
She became an IST tutor in 2006
