Yoga Nidra can have a total of eight stages in the following sequence:
1.Preparation, settling
2.Sankalpa
3.Rotation of awareness
4.Breath awareness
5. Pairs of opposites
6.Visualisation
7.Sankalpa
8.Externalisation
