We will look at three areas:
1. The principles of working with strength in asana
(ie why do we even consider this?)
2. Specific techniques to develop strength
3. How to move in and out of postures in the safest way.
Tutor Bio
Zoe is a Diploma Course Tutor for the British Wheel of Yoga and has served on the Training Committee for many years as DCT Training Officer. With over 40 years of yoga practice with many different teachers from a variety of traditions, her fundamental approach is to build strength as the cornerstone of practice and from there all poses become possible. Asana are broken down and analysed. Zoe looks at the muscles that need to be strong or flexible and works in detail gradually building up the components of a pose. Zoe has taken the additional BWY modules in Pranayama and Pregnancy. As well as running regular yoga classes, the Foundation Course, Teacher Training and travelling round the country giving Workshops and taking In Service Training, Zoe runs regular yoga holidays in warm sunny countries.
Aims of the Day
Aims of the Morning To teach: 1. The principles and reasons for working with strength in asana. 2. How this physical practice affects us energetically and is very much a part of the balance that is HA THA Yoga. 3. Specific techniques to develop strength Aims of the Afternoon 1. To teach how to move in and out of asana in the safest way. 2. To explain how they can relate this to their own teaching.
Learning Outcomes
