Aims of the Morning

To introduce to participants how the brain and body are integrated and how this effects our movement. To introduce the concept of practical/applied neuroscience.

Objectives

To introduce Brain-Move exercises and drills that are easy to implement within yoga based poses, with focus on:
1) Movement preference/imbalances and how to correct.
2) How the eyes influence movement and how we can test for imbalances and correct.

Aims of the Afternoon

To introduce to participants how the brain body integration effects our yoga practice.

Objectives

To introduce Brain-Move exercises and drills that are easy to implement within yoga based poses, with focus on:
3) balance reflexes - identify and correct.
4) the jaw and tongue connection, identifying any imbalances and correct.

By the end of the workshop participants will have a fuller understanding of practical neuroscience and a tool box of neurological drills that can be implemented within their yoga practice to assist with enhanced flexibility, freedom of movement and mobility.



Stephen Braybrook, aka The Movement Man, has his Masters Degree in Biomechanics and is internationally known for teaching and helping others free their pain patterns through movement. He brings a completely fresh perspective to the arena of movement and is the innovator and creator of Brain-Move, which is a game changer in the world of human movement.

Outline plan for the day

10am - 30 mins - Introduction to the Brain move workshop
The mind in movement.
10.30am - 30 mins - Introducing theory and practical neuroscience to cover the 4 functions of the mind in movement.
11am - Practice 1 - How the functions of the brain can show you your movement preference.
11.45am - Practice 2 - How the eyes influence movement and how we can test for an imbalances and correct our findings.
12.30-1.30pm - Lunch break
1.30pm - Practice 3 - How balance is the mechanism that aids our survival.
2.15pm - Practice 4 - How the jaw can reduce or increase pain and how by testing the tongue and jaw connection we can see imbalance with spinal positions.
3pm - Go through how we can link all 4 practises into a yoga class and make it part of our warm up.
3.45pm - Round-up/questions about the day.
4pm - End of the day.
