Yoga is a wonderful way to get to know "you” – the real Self - rather than the image in the mirror.
Most folk only give attention to their body when some part of it fails to function properly or it hurts! . However, those of us who do yoga learn to become "aware” of the body we live in and learn how to look after our physical, mental and emotional health much more effectively.
In the morning our Asana practice will introduce us to our physical body with new eyes – not trying to do a performance on a mat but learning what the rewards are when we practice mindfully and with an emphasis on correct alignment. Attention to correct alignment not only safeguards us against injury but is essential if we want to reap all the promised benefits.
After lunch we will explore our "Inner Pharmacy” – how we have the means to look after our emotional and mental well-being with breathing techniques, chanting and meditation practices.
This mindful and holistic way of practising our Yoga reinforces our ability to self- heal, to replenish our self in body, mind and spirit allowing our nervous system to heal and be restored.
