Pranayama in Perspective: The Five Phases of Progressive Practice with Philip Xerri

The Saturday will consist of exploring the five phases of pranayama.
The Phases are:
Foundations—Mechanics, Energetics, Therapeutics and Balance.
Alignment—harmonisation of the Koshas
Purification—Unblocking of Surya and Chandra Nadi: Nadi Shodanah
Classical– The Eight Kumbhakas
Each Phase will be thoroughly explained in terms of 1/ Why it is in that particular place concerning the progressive practice, and 2/ its primary purpose and its main practices.
Practices will be undertaken from each Phase to highlight the sequential nature of the progression which is a ‘step by step’ approach that not only gives the momentum forward but also provides somewhere to ‘step back’ if problems arise.
The Day will include relevant Asana, Movement Sequences and Relaxations based on the Breath.
