10- 11.15 introduction - explore student expectations for the day, find out their underpinning anatomical knowledge . Anatomy of the head and neck and related myofascial structures. Analysis of movement in relation to the head and neck
11.15 - 12.30 exploring the effects of head and neck through movement practices and asana
13.30 - 14.00 Q and A revisiting principles and theory covered in the morning to consolidate understanding
14.00 - 14.45 explaining the balance of weight with specific reference to the head and neck
14.45 - 15.45 exploring that balance of weight in posture, movements and asanas
15.45 - Plenary and evaluation
Other informationThis day is aimed at teachers and student teachers who have a keen interest in anatomy. There will be posture work and movement to illustrate theory, but this is largely a day of anatomical understanding.
About the TutorGary has over 25 years of experience in movement physical training, anatomical study and bodywork practices. He has lectured extensively on the anatomy of Yoga in the UK, Europe and America. He is the founder of the Natural Bodies Centre in Brighton.
