BWY Celebrates 60 Years with Launch of Associate Teacher Membership at the Om Yoga Show 2025
The British Wheel of Yoga (BWY) will celebrate its 60th anniversary with the launch of a new Associate Teacher Membership at the Om Yoga Show, Alexandra Palace, London, from Friday 17 to Sunday 19 October 2025.
The new membership welcomes experienced yoga teachers trained with other schools. Teachers with valid 300-hour qualifications can join as Associate Teaching Members, enjoying the same benefits as existing BWY Teacher Members including competitive teaching insurance, improved visibility through an online teaching directory, extensive professional resources, exclusive discounts on yoga apparel and access to a supportive national community.
“Yoga teachers come from many training paths and this new membership opens our doors more widely while upholding the highest standards,” says Peter Tyldesley, BWY CEO. “It reflects our commitment to inclusivity as we celebrate six decades of supporting the British yoga community.”
Throughout the weekend, BWY will host nine free sessions on the Open Stage next to stand S2, led by expert BWY teachers. The diverse programme spans mantra, mindfulness, therapeutic yoga, classical yoga and dynamic flow, highlighting BWY’s commitment to welcoming every tradition of yoga.
“After six decades of nurturing yoga in Britain, we’re delighted to mark this diamond anniversary milestone at the Om Yoga Show,” adds Diana O’Reilly, BWY Chair. “Whether you’re curious about yoga, a dedicated practitioner or a qualified teacher, BWY has something to offer. Our community supports every stage of the yoga journey and everyone is welcome.”
Visitors to stand S2 can also pick up a free copy of Spectrum, BWY’s members’ magazine, and enjoy an extra month of membership when joining at the show.
